*altestamentlich (adj/adv) Since we can’t really say in English “Old-Testament-ly,” one has to translate something like “in an Old Testament mode,” or “in conformity with an Old Testament perspective,” etc.
**die Unaussprechlichkeit take it apart: un un, aus out, sprech speak, -lich adj ending, –keit abstract noun ending; “un-out-speak-able-ness, inexpressibility,” “unpronounceable nature”

a little unEnglishly, but here goes:
By the way, I always sense again how Old Testament-ly I think and feel, that I also have read more in the past months from the Old Testament than (I have) from the New Testament. Only if one knows the unpronounceable nature of the name of God, may one also pronounce for the first time the name of Jesus Christ. Only if one loves life and the world in such a way, that with them everything seems lost and to be at an end, may one believe in the resurrection of the dead and a new world; only if one accepts the law of God over himself, may one speak well also for the first time of grace, and only if the wrath and vengeance of God remain standing over one’s enemy as a grim reality, can something of forgiveness and love for enemies stir our heart.
